Republican Rep. Rich McCormick’s resolution to censure Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib for what he calls “promoting false narratives regarding the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, and calling for the destruction of the State of Israel” passed on Tuesday night.
The final vote was 234-188 with 22 Democrats joining Republicans in approving the resolution.
Democrat firebrand Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-09), who typically leads the far-Left rhetoric in the House, parted ways with his progressive colleague on the matter in his support of the censure.
“I think Tlaib said ‘from the river to the sea’ doesn’t mean wiping out Israel. Well, that’s what it means,” Cohen told Axios. “You can p**s on my leg, but don’t tell me it’s rain.”
The resolution had passed a procedural hurdle in the House earlier on Tuesday to move forward after the Democrats’ attempt to table the motion failed 208-213.
The final vote on the resolution was expected on Wednesday but occurred on Tuesday night.
“My resolution is factual, measured, and has significant support. I am hopeful that it will pass this body with bipartisan support,” McCormick posted Monday on the social media platform X.
Tlaib, a Michigan lawmaker, describes herself Palestinian-American who is frequently critical of Israel and its government’s politics.
McCormick’s resolution follows one that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., filed last week. Greene’s resolution was ultimately rejected in the House. She has since reintroduced an amended version of that privileged resolution.

What does censure mean exactly? Is it a change agent? A slap on the wrist.? This watered down censure is not going to change her bazaar unAmerican behavior. MTG has a Resolution with teeth. Lets see if the coward Republicans will support her resolution to censure Talib today. Is it going to teach her a lesson? Hell no!! She hates America. She should move to Gaza. Let’s see if she can assimilate there. She doesn’t appreciate her privilege of being American.
It’s time to drop the home country name when you take the oath to be an American citizen. I’m so sick of hearing people say African American, or Cuban American, or Somalia American, or Arab American or German American or British American. You’re either American , or not. Most of these people are born in America, not Africa or Cuba or Somalia or whatever they claim to be their country of origin. Example: Barrack Hussein Obama referred to himself as African American. He was the child of a White American Woman, born in Hawaii, according to him, & the son of a Kenyan Black African man. Who knows the truth? His records were sealed. He is neither white nor black. He is a mix, but he chose the “oppressed” identity of African American bc it is more politically advantageous to him. Additionally, he was not Constitutionally eligible to be a POTUS candidate, since the Constitution requires the candidate’s parents to be American citizens at the time of birth. BTW Nikki Hailey has the same problem. Look what we got fir not following our Constitution.
Of course he was not oppressed at all… EVER. He was privileged. He has become very wealthy based on his acclaimed “oppression.” He deceived the Anerican people in many ways, & the Left leaning media covered for him. I never understood how anyone with a brain could vote for someone whose records were sealed, & not Constitutionally eligible. A true Manchurian Candidate whose vow was to “transform America”.
It’s exhausting trying to be politically correct, which is a Marxist strategy as well. The Marxist method of dividing people into groups, & calling them oppressed. Pitting one oppressed group against another, striving for control. Anyone who supports Hamas, AlQuieda, Hezbulla or any other Barbaric Sharia Extremist does not belong in this country. America has always been proud to be a melting pot. That does not mean we adopt any other country’s traditions. It means they adopt American traditions. In a Democracy ( Republic) majority rules. Don’t like it, LEAVE. We don’t need you. Stop Dividing Americans by color, sex, religion, etc. America believes in equality, not equity. We want Marxists to Stop indoctrinating American children to hate this country & its Founders.
Go Found your own country, if America doesn’t meet your standards. LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT.
